Margaret and Celestin July Newsletter

Dear Friends & Family,

Thank you for all your prayers and support. We still don’t really know what will happen in Chad regarding security. We continue to pray for the leaders and the people to live in the fear of God. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life!

The 21 days of prayer and fasting at La Bergerie church was a time of growth for many people who went. Relationships were deepened by spending time with God and each other. There were times of prayer, worship and teaching, including working in small groups. They experienced miracles of provision and healing. Praise God!

Celestin is currently in Cameroon, having been invited to speak at a conference and attend a funeral. It was a missionary who had worked with a group in Chad who died and so Celestin travelled to Cameroon with others from the same group. He still has to get back home now in time to prepare for the youth camp we are holding at La Bergerie Church.

We have held summer camps at the school before and they have helped the young people who attend know God and do some evangelism. They will have times of prayer, worship, and teaching as well as practical workshops learning to play the drums or piano, and more relaxed times around the campfire where they can share experiences and ask questions. The theme is ‘The nations belong to you.ʼ (Psalm 2:8).

Margaret has worked some hours as a community nurse in Cornwall and had the opportunity to attend some study days to update her skills and hopefully put into practice.

Mum continues to do well at Rowan house in Saltash – Praise God! We are praying about working with YWAM in Cornwall for a time. It would be good to be able to see Mum regularly and we have a heart for Cornwall. There are so many lost and lonely people in the county we’re asking the Lord how we can help.

Wherever we are in mission we need prayer and finances and are very grateful for your support.

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14: 1 (NRSV)

Prayer:

  • Praise God for his love for us and protection over our comings and goings and all that we do!
  • Pray that as we repent of our sins God will forgive us and fill us with the Holy Spirit.
  • Continue to pray for the government in Chad and that different groups will work together for peace and the good of the country rather than for their own selfish benefit.
  • Pray for La Bergerie Evangelique des Nations church as they grow. Pray for preparations for the youth camp and that it will be effective in helping young people grow in the knowledge of God.
  • Continue to pray for YWAM Chad and the future schools we would like to run.
  • Pray that God will lead us and confirm whether he would have us in Cornwall. Celestin will need a visa and we will need accommodation, a well-running car and finances to pay staff fees. Margaret will probably continue to do some nursing work to maintain her registration.
