Prayer:
As we enter this holy season, remind us that the Christmas story is not only something that happened long ago—
it is something You are still writing in us today.
Just as You chose ordinary people—
Mary, Joseph, shepherds keeping watch—
open our hearts to see that You choose us too.
You invite us to carry Your hope,
to bear Your light,
to welcome Your love into a world that longs for peace.
Let Christ be born anew in us.
Make our lives places where Your presence can dwell,
our words echoes of Your good news,
and our actions signs of Your mercy.
May we, like all who came to the manger,
draw near with wonder,
rise with joy,
and go forth telling the story with our lives.
Amen.
Questions:
Do you believe the prophecies of the Old Testament can speak into the here and now?
What does it mean for you to be part of the Christmas story?
How do we help point, this Christmas, to Christs birth as a continuous event?
Do we need, this Christmas, to sit at the manger, pray reflect on what God is doing in your lives?
